Dogwood Arts is funding the restoration of Dolly Parton's mural in Knoxville that was vandalize
Dogwood Arts is funding the restoration of Dolly Parton’s mural.
“As soon as I heard Dolly was tagged I knew several other pieces in the alley would also benefit. It is known as ‘graffiti alley so I am not surprised that people still tag there, though I am disappointed that they chose to target several artworks instead of the less developed walls,” is what WATE quoted Megan Lingerfelt as saying.
Oh yeah, Dogwood Arts has tapped Lingerfelt to restore the mural that was painted by Colton Valentine back in 2019.
The mural, which is located in Knoxville, TN, was vandalize by a group of humans who I believe are members of the Dot Com Y2K Generation.
Now, I’m not saying that all of humans who were born during the Dot Com, Y2K era are bad. I’m just saying that they fit the profile of the little minions who love to destroy anything that doesn’t have a Mountain Dew or Doritos image on it. Just look at what they did to Ms. Parton’s mural. They have her candy apply red lips looking like they’ve been hit by a big blackberry slushy. Just look at it!
That there is something that those young country thugin’ in the hood youngins from the Dot Com, Y2K era would do. Y’all know I’m telling the truth! They’re probably sitting at home, laughing and saying, “Pardon us for what we did to Ms. Dolly Parton but she’s no Ariana Grande!”
Those bad behind youngins. They wouldn’t know excellent music if they were genetically engineered to detect it. Ms. Parton is an icon! She’s the one who wrote the “I Will Always Love You” song that got Whitney Houston a Grammy.
Somebody should tell those youngins that if they want to vandalize something then do like folks did back in the 80s and 90s and vandalize yourself with some Chinese tattoos that nobody can understand. And oh yeah, leave those undeveloped walls alone too.
